1. Cost – even if you are a first time traveller, it is obvious that the price of accommodation can set you back, or even end your trip much sooner. Couchsurfing is free, it is free to stay at someone’s house, and it is free to use the online service. couchsurfing.org

2. Locals – You see a whole new perspective than one booked at the Hilton. By staying with locals, you discover local spots, local beers and a richer experience.

3. Friends – As a solo backpacker, you may find yourself in need of social activity. Enjoy CS meetings, speak with other world wanders over a meal, or clashing pints.

4. Awaken yourself – introduce yourself to a new lifestyle by staying with locals. Learn home cooked recipes, and practice their language.

5. The Story – Write your own story by being most adventurous, and open minded. One day you will tell your children of the time you stayed on a couch in Paris and biked the streets all night, or whatever trouble you get yourself into.

Couchsurfers, are open minded and if you are wondering what kind of person you have to be to get involved? Yourself. The idea is to share, learn and travel, and by meeting people from all over the world whose passions match yours, you will feel nothing but inspired.
